What to Wear:

Choosing a Picture Perfect Outfit.
It is the day before your photoshoot, and you are frantically searching for the perfect outfit. While trying to coordinate with all of your family members, you begin to feel flustered and overwhelmed. Will the blouse I wanted to wear match with my son's favorite sweater? No need to stress; we have a few simple tips to make your photoshoot everything you dreamed it would be.
Tip #1: You're Solid.
While we love a bold pattern as much as the next person, there is something extremely classic about a solid print. At Something Timeless, we strive to capture photos that will last a lifetime, and your wardrobe can contribute to its timelessness. When selecting your outfits, stick to the solid section of your closet and encourage other family members to do the same. As you can see in the above photo, Taylor's family embraced solid colors, and it helped to create an aesthetic that is more visually appealing.
Tip #2: Neutralized.
Along with solid colors, neutral tones are complementary of nature's backdrop. If you decide to have your photographs taken indoors, we still recommend a neutral palette for a timeless, chic look. The neutral tones will not take away from the surrounding environment but rather enhance the overall beauty of your space.
Tip #3: Be Yourself.
While it is easy to find the perfect photo on Pinterest that you hope to replicate, find a way to use this as inspiration to make the look your own. Remember at the end of the day, you are having photographs taken of you. Be yourself and have fun with it! The more relaxed and comfortable you are that day, the more you will love your photographs.
Tip #4: Season's Greetings.
Embrace the weather outside and find outfits that are suitable for the season. In the cooler months, you can break out your favorite vintage leather jacket or forest green rain boots to enhance the cool-tone hues found in nature. In the warmer months, you can incorporate your favorite pastels to complement the soft florals found outdoors.
Tip #5: Keeping it Classic.
In order to create timeless photos, you will want to opt for classic styles rather than trendy looks. Veer away from the most trendy outfits and stick to simple, classic looks for guaranteed longevity.
Tip #6: Compliments for Complements.
Just because you choose a blush sweater, does not mean that you entire family needs to dress in all pink. In fact, you can utilize your blush sweater to complement your family's clothing choices. Neutral tones again can help balance a color that you decide to incorporate. For example, Taylor wanted to feature the color blush in her spring photos. She then used white tones and solid jeans to complete the entire look. As you will notice in the above picture, it enhanced the rustic barn's aesthetic as well as the warm lilac from the flowers.
